UnTapped is proud to announce that cross country ski racer, Ben Ogden, joined their roster of athletes for the 2024 season. While the 23-year-old Vermont native competes on the World Cup through the winter season, he maintains Vermont as a home base for his ample training. Ogden grew up skiing with the Stratton Mountain Club before attending The University of Vermont where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2022, as well as a pair of NCAA national titles.
“As an athlete, my fueling has always left something to be desired. UnTapped takes a natural view on sport fueling and it is not only better tasting, but it’s also better performing. It’s for that reason I am extremely proud to be working with UnTapped this year. As great as we are alone, it’s clear that Vermonters are always stronger when they team up. Together we can help to show the world the power of maple!”
Ogden has led a renaissance of men’s racing for the US Nordic squad beginning with a pair of World Junior Championships, the best finish for an American man in the 2022 Tour de Ski, and a top ten overall finish for sprinting on the World Cup last season. Ogden also took home the 2022 World Cup U23 Green Bib, cementing himself as the fastest male skier under 23 years old on the entire World Cup.
“Ben comes from a family with a deep history in nordic skiing and a part of Vermont with a connection to the sport that was absolutely foundational in the sport. His connection to skiing, his connection to Vermont and his connection to UnTapped makes it an easy partnership. We couldn’t be more thrilled.” says co-founder and cross-country skier Andrew Gardner.
