Hi – This is Charlie.
My dad, who owns UnTapped with my uncle Doug and a couple other guys, just fell asleep on the couch.
But he left his laptop open, and I managed to figure out his password to the UnTapped website, so let’s have a little fun, shall we?
I thought about replacing all the pictures of my dad on the UnTapped website with shots of a monkey’s butt.

Then I thought about launching some new products, like Chunky Peanut Butter Energy Gels or S’mores Waffles (actually, that sounds pretty good), but I decided not to.
Instead, I designed my own water bottle, and while we’re at it, I’m going to give it away for free too.

While supplies last. Can’t be combined with other offers. (Whatever that means – uncle Doug said I had to write it.)
While that’s uploading, here’s a picture from a gravel ride I did with my dad a couple of weeks ago. We were about an hour into the ride when I started feeling a little weird, like my head was lighter than it should be. I didn’t really feel like I could make it up the next hill.

“Have you been eating?” my dad asked.
“Not that much. I feel really weird.”
“Oh, you just bonked,” he said.
Bonked? I thought he was talking about Super Mario or something.
But he pulled out five UnTapped Energy Gels, and I sat there on the side of the road and ate them. What kid doesn’t love maple syrup, anyway?

“99% of the time, when a kid bonks, it’s because they ran out of nutrition at the wrong time. Basically, you didn’t eat enough to give your body the energy it needs to keep going.”
After that, I was good to ride.
When we were done, I wanted to know more about the bonking thing.
“99% of the time, when a kid bonks, it’s because they ran out of nutrition at the wrong time. Basically, you didn’t eat enough to give your body the energy it needs to keep going,” he said. “When you were little, we’d feed you constantly to keep you moving and you’d just eat it. Now that you’re older and bigger and can ride longer, you also need to keep eating and drinking.”
After that, he kept talking, but honestly, I just started tuning him out. He was crashing out about “all the crap that some people put in their bodies” blah, blah, blah.
I just wanted go get some ice cream. So, I pretended to listen to him until we got to the ice cream store.

Anyway, buy my bottle if you like it.
And if you’re taking your kids out for a gravel ride or a hike or they’ve got sports after school or anything like that, don’t let them bonk. Give them a bunch of UnTapped instead.
