  1. This stuff is like super rocket fuel, especially late in a longer race or adventure run when you need a boost of sweet, natural goodness to get you to the finish!! Easy to carry, healthy, easy to digest, great taste!

  2. I have been riding for many years but I have Celiac Disease and so finding a gel that doesn’t mess up my stomach is very hard. Enter Untapped, which has fueled my cross races, gravel races & adventures for years now. I am so grateful for these little packets of syrup – thanks for this concept & for making something so good!

  3. My trail name is Fenway. My accent, although 40 years removed, still Boston Strong. Am a Septuagenarian long-distance hiker, about 1,500 miles a year in quest of the crown. On the trail a lot of folks help you out, Trail angels, locals and passersby. Hikers and locals can be fascinating to learn about. Hearing their stories and understanding their perspective and the Americana of the towns along the way is a highlight of the hike. Vermont Maple Syrup is a perfect as a trade for a favor or general good will. Sometimes I even indulge myself.

  4. These maple syrup “tubes” are perfect for my longer (marathon+) races. I’ve tried a number of gels and most I have to divide into two servings and/or they both my stomach. I sometimes use honey packets, but maple syrup has electrolytes that honey doesn’t have, making it a better choice for keeping things balanced. The only minor issue I’ve had is that there always seems to be on in every box where the tear line isn’t there or is out of alignment, and as one not good opening things with his teeth, it mostly renders that tube unusable on a run (unless aid station staff helps me). I’ve had the same issue with other products so on balance I’m still better off with these, by far.

  5. I hardly ever write reviews but I love this product. I am not a runner but came across untapped when searching for travel size portions of 100% syrup. I have a health issue and cannot consume any products with preservatives. I travel all the time and these small packets are perfect to fit in a purse or carry on. I did have a small issue with my last order. One of the syrup packets arrived partially opened. The contents had coated all of the other packets and the box. You might want to place the packets in plastic inside the box?

5 Questions for 5 Days of Long Trail FKT

In June, we caught up with Vermont ultra-runner and UnTapped athlete, Aliza Lapierre. At that time, she mentioned a potential attempt at the FKT on the Long Trail — a 272 mile trail that snakes the length of Vermont from Canada to Massachusetts straight through the Green Mountains. Aliza is about to start her attempt at the FKT and she was generous with
